Volunteer with The GRAND

The GRAND’s Volunteer Program creates meaningful opportunities for community members to participate in Calgary’s arts scene. Volunteers are central to our audience experience, helping create a welcoming environment and supporting events so every guest feels valued. With the implementation of a volunteer program, our aim is to create a bridge between The GRAND and the community; inviting participation from different backgrounds and fostering a sense of ownership and pride in our historic space.

What You’ll Do:

  • Volunteers support Movie Nights and special events from start to finish. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Greeting guests and helping set the tone for the evening

  • Scanning tickets and assisting with seating

  • Supporting accessibility needs and answering guest questions

  • Remaining available during the film to assist guests as needed

  • Helping with light end-of-night tasks as guests depart

You’ll always be supported by experienced team members and never left to figure things out alone.

When You’ll Volunteer

  • Shifts typically run 5:00 PM to approximately 9:30 PM

  • Most volunteers sign up for 1–2 shifts per month

  • Scheduling is flexible and based on your availability
