Volunteer Code of Conduct

The GRAND is committed to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for everyone. Volunteers are expected to uphold these standards at all times.

1. Professionalism & Representation

Be courteous, attentive, and professional when engaging with patrons and guests. Maintain confidentiality about internal operations or patron information. Avoid engaging in public discussions that could reflect negatively on The GRAND.

2. Attendance & Reliability

Arrive on time and ready to work. If unable to attend a shift, notify the Volunteer Coordinator or FOH Manager immediately (minimum 48-hour notice when possible). Three no-shows or repeated lateness may result in removal from the volunteer roster.

3. Inclusivity & Respect

Treat all individuals with dignity and respect, regardless of race, gender, age, ability, sexual orientation, or background. Harassment, discrimination, or bullying of any kind will not be tolerated. Support The GRAND’s values of diversity, equity, and inclusion in every interaction.

4. Health & Safety

Follow all safety instructions provided during orientation or by staff on site. Report unsafe conditions or incidents immediately to a supervisor. Do not lift heavy items (over 25 lbs) without help. Be familiar with emergency exits and evacuation procedures.

5. Confidentiality & Media Policy

Do not share photos or recordings from backstage, rehearsal spaces, or restricted areas without permission. Seek approval before making public social media posts about The GRAND or its events.

6. Conflict Resolution

If a conflict arises, report it promptly to your supervisor or the Volunteer Coordinator. Volunteers should not attempt to handle disruptive patrons or incidents alone.

7. Disciplinary Procedure

Verbal warning from Volunteer Coordinator or Manager. Written warning for repeated or serious misconduct. Termination of volunteer status if behaviour persists or is severe.
