Who are we?

The GRAND is one of Western Canada’s oldest theatres and has contributed to Calgary’s theatre and live performance communities in a myriad of ways for over 100 years. Today, we are a charitable organization committed to being the home of creative placemaking in Calgary. Our vision is to be a home for performance, creativity, and dialogue – where the city’s past, present and future converge. We are building a bold, inclusive, and fearless space that redefines what a performing arts venue can be: a beacon of artistic innovation, community connection, and cultural legacy.

Our mission is to amplify diverse voices, nurture artistic excellence, and build community through inclusive and transformative experiences. We connect artists, audiences, and ideas – locally rooted, globally inspired.

You are a changemaker, a connector, and a champion of the arts. By joining The GRAND’s Board, you step into a leadership role that shapes Calgary’s cultural future. We’re looking for visionaries with sales and fundraising expertise who can help strengthen our sustainability, expand inclusive programming, and drive artistic innovation.

As a Board member, you’ll foster bold growth, amplify diverse voices, and help build a cultural legacy that ensures Calgary’s creative community thrives for generations to come.
