At The GRAND, we recognize the power of storytelling, the arts, and gathering as essential to the process of reconciliation.

While this building has stood for over 110 years, we honor that the music, dance, and stories shared in this place have roots that stretch back centuries—right here under our feet. As a cultural gathering space, we are committed to nurturing an environment where diverse histories are respected and celebrated. Through our programming and performances, we aim to contribute to the ongoing journey of reconciliation, creating opportunities for genuine connection with the community.

Thank you for walking this path with us and for your commitment to the lands and communities of Moh’kinsstis and the traditional Treaty 7 territory.

We acknowledge and express our gratitude for the privilege to live, work, play, and tell stories on the ancestral and traditional territory of the Blackfoot Confederacy, comprised of the Siksika, the Kainai, and the Piikani; the îethka Nakoda Nations, including the Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Goodstoney; the Tsuut’ina; and the Otipemisiwak Métis Government (Districts 5 and 6).

We also recognize all those who make their homes, Indigenous and non-Indigenous, in the Treaty 7 region of Southern Alberta.
