Your expertise:

  • PLANNING AND ORGANIZING: Solid organizational and project management skills. 

  • INFORMATION SEEKING: efficiently and effectively gather information, identify information required to clarify a situation, and seek information from appropriate sources. 

  • FOCUS ON QUALITY AND DETAILS: Detail oriented and creative problem solver who consistently prepares high quality work. 

  • EFFECTIVE INTERACTIVE COMMUNICATION: Strong communicator, being able to effectively work with GRAND staff, GRAND patrons and clients.

  • COOPERATION AND COLLABORATION: Proactive in identifying new solutions and practices in event/performance execution with a diverse team. 

  • INITIATIVE: Demonstrates the ability to take initiative and be self motivated. 

What you’ll be doing:  

The Facilities Assistant works closely with The GRAND team to organize and maintain the venue as well as support in the preparation of events as needed. The ideal candidate for this role is independent and self-motivated, thrives while problem solving, and is detail oriented when working on tasks. 

Duties of the Facilities Assistant may include, but are not limited to:

  • Update and maintain the facility maintenance plan and escalate priority items;

  • Regular building walkthroughs, checking and documenting for any maintenance required;

  • Work with managers and other staff members to ensure that administrative tasks are completed and that the business functions efficiently; 

  • Liaise with Allied Building Operator or contractors as required; 

  • Work with existing vendors to purchase equipment and supplies; 

  • Find new vendors when new products or supplies are required;

  • Store and organize all office, custodial, electrical, plumbing, and security supplies; 

  • Maintain all facility light fixtures and replace light bulbs as required (interior and exterior) 

  • Between custodial services – check all washrooms and ensure all supplies are in place and garbage is emptied if required;

  • Work with other departments to ensure first aid kits are kept stocked and up to date; 

  • Work with theater house crew on theater maintenance and events as required.

Your educational background:

High school Diploma

Intermediate level computer skills in Google Suite, MS Office.

Position Type:

Reporting into the Head of Administration and Operations, this is a 9 week position working 30 hours. Any additional hours will be compensated according to our time in lieu policy, or will be negotiated with the Head of Administration & Operations. 

Salary: $20 per hour
