A Youth Explosion 2023

presented by
Canada Bridges

Show Up. Stand Up. Be Heard.

A BIPOC Youth Storytelling Event rooted in community, mentorship, creativity, and resiliency.

A Youth Explosion (AYE) is an annual Indigenous youth led and created event that honours community, local youth, and partner voices in its creation. A Youth Explosion builds on previous year's succusses and relationships, continually shifting and evolving as the youth grow.

AYE is a safe space where community, partners and other youth can witness and celebrate youth stories and wisdom. Canada Bridges understands that the youth are the leaders of today and tomorrow, and it is important to nourish and encourage youth to share their truth, creativity, and passion.

This year Canada Bridges is excited to host our youth storytelling event in collaboration with The Grand Theatre and Making Treaty 7 Cultural Society to showcase BIPOC youth of Mohkinstsis (Calgary). There will be a youth artist exhibit and youth vendors displaying their works. You can enjoy their creations during intermission, and after performances. End your evening with networking and light snacks to build community, connections, and celebrate with the youth storytellers, and artists.

This is the 11th Annual AYE Event that has been hosted by Canada Bridges as we work towards our vision of supporting youth to show up, stand up and be heard. We prioritize relationship building and collaboration with Indigenous and racialized youth and communities, from across Treaty 7, whose voices and change potential are systemically under-represented in society. Please be advised there will be photo and video at the event. AYE will be livestreamed to our local communities to accommodate community members and relatives who cannot attend the event in person. Live stream will be available day of on our social media platforms.
