Step into the holiday spirit with The Muppet Christmas Carol - a whimsical, heartwarming retelling of Charles Dickens’ timeless classic, brought to life through Jim Henson’s beloved Muppets. This 1992 family favourite stars Michael Caine as Ebenezer Scrooge, whose frosty heart begins to thaw thanks to the hilarious, heartfelt antics of Kermit the Frog as Bob Cratchit, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, and the entire Muppet gang.

MORE ABOUT THE EVENT | We’re so excited to welcome you to The GRAND on Sunday, November 16, for an afternoon of connection, treats, and a touch of holiday magic. This free, family-friendly event is our way of saying thank you to The GRAND community and sharing a glimpse of what lies ahead for Calgary’s oldest and boldest theatre.

11AM: Behind-the-scenes tour. See the stage lights, peek backstage, and hear stories from our historic past.

11:30AM: Doors open for everyone. Mingle, grab a drink, and enjoy a slice of Portland St Pizza on us!

We will have family-friendly activities - including crafts, photo ops, and hot chocolate alongside a short overview of what’s next at The GRAND from our Executive Director Erynn Lyster. 

1PM: Movie screening - settle in for this retro Christmas Classic with a warm bag of popcorn and the ones you love. 

Admission is FREE and includes one drink ticket, one slice of pizza per person and endless hot chocolate - just make sure to RSVP so we can keep the Pizza & Drinks flowing! Bring your family, friends, and festive spirit.

This isn’t just another night at the theatre, it’s a thank-you to our community. Over the past year, The GRAND has continued to evolve as Calgary’s home for creativity, community, and culture. We couldn’t do it without the incredible people who fill these seats and bring this space to life.
